Reports and Website
Objectives
produce information for progress reports, annual
reports and the website as fundraising tools
Seven hundred copies of the Annual Report and 1000 copies
of Uxolo newsletters were delivered. Progress Reports for the year and
Quarterly Reports were produced. Seven web pages were updated and four
new web pages developed.
Administration
Objectives
provide and implement an efficient administration
service to all staff
ensure d-Drive filing and central filing systems
are effective, user friendly and clear
ensure communication systems are effective
ensure maintenance and repairs of all assets, equipment,
premises, QPC vehicles etc.
support staff with general IT troubleshooting problems

Centre
After an assessment of computer needs by staff, new equipment
was bought and installed. New computers and an ADSL line together with
software upgrades have produced a more efficient IT service. A new telephone
management system was installed to assist with the monitoring of telephone
usage, and policies have been drafted regarding reimbursement for use
of cell phones and the use of QPC telephones for private calls.
The allocation and cleaning of offices enabled project staff
to be positioned together to work more effectively and efficiently,
and the electric fence was repaired.
International Volunteers/Interns Support
Objectives
support international volunteers (including interns
and exchange staff)
plan carefully for the times that international
volunteers are with QPC
establish a clear structure for volunteers
find needs within QPC to be addressed by volunteers
A policy on volunteer and intern placement and exchange
was formulated and put onto our website. Placement agencies were informed
of the new intake policy regarding QPC's needs for skills transfer through
volunteer/internship placements. The project leader monitored the progress
of the medium-term volunteers and interns at the Centre.
Resources
Objectives
provide effective information support to QPC projects
and profile QPC work
Numerous books, journals, e-Newsletters and videos were
catalogued and displayed. Our books, stickers and T-shirts sold well,
and many additional booklets ordered.
Information on a wide range of topics relating to people,
statistics, programmes and policies were sourced for staff. Information
about possible funders and possible advertising possibilities for the
Centre was found on the internet, and various other topics such as human
rights for children were sourced.
