Objectives

at the level of community conflict, on community policing fora and in
organizations such as schools
A Gender Reconciliation workshop facilitated by the Satyana
Institute took place in April for 27 participants. Following the workshop,
a network has been set up to build on the strengths gained at the workshop.
QPC participated in a discussion at the Centre for Conflict
Resolution (CCR) on the United Nations Development Fund for Women report
'Women, War and Peace' and the gender team participated in a meeting
at CCR on gender issues and gender relations in peace-building. We participated
in a meeting at the Mowbray police station on how the police can serve
women better. At the Gender Commission office a discussion explored
ways forward for the protection of women and children. Dates have been
set for the training of a group of women and men from the 'Healing Through
Art' project of Delft in gender issues.
